On Friday, June 1st, the Quarry Lane community honored and bid farewell to the Class of 2018 at the annual commencement ceremony. This fall, all 58 students will continue their journey of lifelong learning at universities and colleges around the world.
Senior Allen Abbott opened the ceremony with a welcome address that he prepared in both Mandarin and English, followed by speeches from 2018 co-salutatorians, Joymaneet Kaur and Ahana Sen. QLS alumni Parker Newton addressed the graduates next, sharing some personal advice about college for our graduates. Head of School, Dr. Sabri Arac, presented Parker with an alumni recognition award, followed by the bestowal of the Quarry Lane Lifelong Recognition medals. These are awarded to students who have been with The Quarry Lane School since kindergarten or younger. This year's recipients included Rohin Sequeira, Jack Setchell and Audrey McClure. Valdictorian Isabella Ruiz closed the ceremony with her address, and with that, the Class of 2018 officially became Quarry Lane alumni.
