Winning Weekend for QLS Speech and Debate

Two weekends ago, our high school debate team participated in GGSA's second tournament of the year at the Diablo Valley College. Last weekend's speech and debate tournament at Glenbrooks High marked another success for the Quarry Lane Cougars! Competitors from schools across the country travelled to Northbrook, Illinois in hopes of winning a lucrative bid to the annual Tournament of Champions (TOC).

Debaters from the Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, and Policy divisions faced stiff competition from across the district. In varsity Lincoln Douglas, Kanchan Krishna won two out of three rounds, earning 12th place. Congratulations to all competitors!

At the speech and debate tournament at Glenbrooks High in Northbrook, Illinois, debater Sai Karavadi won five preliminary rounds and was recognized as a sextofinalist in varsity Lincoln Douglas. Meanwhile, Zachary Davis and Vineela Gogineni both won four of their rounds, earning 93rd and 94th places, respectively. Close behind was freshman Mackenzie Davis, who won three of her rounds against primarily junior and senior competitors. In varsity Public Forum, one of the toughest categories in the tournament, debaters Ritika Peddamallu and Eesha Pamula also won one of their rounds. Against hundreds of competitors from throughout the nation, the Quarry Lane Speech and Debate team has made its mark yet again.
