Faculty Perspective -Dr. Thuy Pham
Meet Dr. Thuy Pham
Dr. Thuy Pham is a math teacher in our Upper School.
Dr. Pham was inspired by her father to love mathematics as a child and won a number of awards in mathematics at her younger age including a bronze medal at the 34th International Mathematical Olympiad. Before coming to Quarry Lane, she was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Recently, Dr. Pham was named a recipient of The University of Chicago's Outstanding Educator Award, an award given to educators across the nation for excellence in teaching and mentorship. For more than 30 years, the university has invited incoming students to nominate an educator who has inspired, challenged and made a difference in their lives. And every year, over a third of the students take the opportunity to nominate an educator. University of Chicago freshman and recent QLS alumnus, Srihari N. nominated Dr. Pham for the distinguished award.
