Quarry Lane Robotics Takes 2nd Place in State Championship

Quarry Lane robotics team, Team 15034 (QLS Middle Management) took 2nd overall and 1st in their division at the FIRST Robotics NorCal State Championship.

Quarry Lane Robotics would like to congratulate all three teams—The Interns (Team 14770), QLS Human Resources (Team 11920), and QLS Middle Management (Team 15034)—for concluding a stellar season on the FIRST® Robotics competition circuit. All three teams competed at the NorCal State Championship this past weekend, making up three of the 50 teams that competed at the event for a chance to advance to the World Championships. Our middle school team, The Interns, had a great day competing in a field of mostly high school teams. They started the competition off with bang, going 3-0 and ultimately finishing 8th out of 26 teams. Team QLS Human Resources ended a terrific rookie season this year. The team, comprised of freshman students, took 2nd place earlier in the year at Google HQ, followed by a 1st place win at their second tournament in Daly City. The team finished in the middle of the pack at this weekend's State Championship but surely built themselves an excellent foundation for next season. Team QLS Middle Management, comprised of last year's FRC students, had a great day of competition, winning their division and taking 2nd place in the state. The team is comprised of FRC Team Student Leadership members who all competed and won last year's state championships. In true Quarry Lane robotics fashion, all of our teams took away much more from the season than simply awards and achievements. The Interns celebrated the end of the season by sending up members to dance and entertain the crowd before the award ceremonies yesterday. This inspired the entire team to get up on stage and sing a rendition of the, "Mr. Ong Song" for everyone in the crowd! The personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills that they experienced is truly what has defined this season of robotics for our teams.
