QLS Senior Advances to Top 30 in Junior Breakthrough Challenge

QLS senior, Rhea Mitr, has advanced to the Top 30 of the international science video competition, the Junior Breakthrough Challenge.

Out of tens of thousands of submissions, she is now a Top 30 semifinalist and as such, her video on Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors has qualified for the Popular Vote portion of the challenge. In the Popular Vote, the video that receive the most likes, shares or positive reactions via Facebook will automatically advance to the final round of the challenge.

The Breakthrough Junior Challenge award winner will receive a $250,000 scholarship and will be featured at the annual Breakthrough Prize Awards, held at the NASA Ames Research Center. The Breakthrough Prize Awards are sponsored by Sergey Brin, Mark Zuckerberg, Priscilla Chan, Ma Huateng, Yuri and Julia Milner, and Anne Wojcicki. .

As one of the Top 30 semifinalists, Rhea's video on Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors, is now part of the "Popular Vote" competition – the winner of the vote will go directly to the finals round.
