Mrs. Flynn, QLS Art teacher, submitted approximately 30 pieces of art, created by our QLS students, to represent the Quarry Lane School Visual Arts Department in the GFWC Dublin/San Ramon Women’s Club 2009 Student Art Contest.

Quarry Lane fourth grade students traveled to the Gold Country to attend the Coloma Outdoor Education Program, focusing on the Gold Rush, the events and historical figures associated with that era. Students participated in tours of Historical downtown Coloma, hiked to Monroe Ridge, attended presentations from Miwok Indian Culture keepers, and panned for gold.

Good time was had by all at the QLSPA sponsored Quarryfest Harvest Festival. Highlights included pie eating contest, sack races, chubby bunny contest, cake walk, face painting and prize raffle.

Students at The Quarry Lane School recently participated in a project called "Pinwheels for Peace." The event coincided with the International Day of Peace, which took place September 21st.

Optimist International 2008 Optimist Club Essay Contest: This year the topic was, “Today’s choices Shape my Life,” to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live.
